This exhibition, the duo’s first major show in a public London institution, includes extensive installations, sculptures, watercolour drawings and a film screening, which aim to explore and interrogate the functionality of architecture, design and the everyday object. Parasol unit presented Flight of Imagination, an exhibition of experimental and fantastical work generated by the young people who participated in the Sketchbook and Animation Youth Projects at the foundation during half-term from 16 – 20 February 2015.
Organised as part of Discover Young Hackney and funded by Hackney Council, the Sketchbook andExperimental Animation projects enabled young people from the local community to work with creative media, while presenting them with the opportunity to curate and install their very own two-day public exhibition in the Education & Events Room at the gallery.
